Toast To The Cyclists

A St. Patrick's Day celebration just wouldn't be complete without raising your glass and making a toast to good health and good friends. And if you want to skip the beer calories, then raise your glass of green Gatorade & toast with my modified version of a popular Irish rhyme:

For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way
Good health, good luck, and great rides
For today and every day.

Your Lucky Day

Tomorrow, March 17th is St. Patrick's Day! One of the most recognized symbols associated with the day is the four-leaf clover. But what's the deal with the clover & why is it considered lucky?

The superstition of the four-leaf clover is thought to originate with the Druids (2nd Century B.C.E.). They believed the shamrock helped them to see evil spirits, thereby allowing them time to find a safe hideout.

The four- leaf clover was also used to ward off evil as it provided a magical repellent that would turn away bad luck. The three-leaf clover is also associated with good luck as it is believed to be a symbol for the Holy Trinity. By wearing a three- or a four-leaf clover, good luck is supposedly brought to the bearer.
