It's Grand

CK Sports, a new sporting goods store just north of Dallas is set to open this weekend. The store carries a good selection of Skeese Greets bicycle greeting cards. The owner sent an email with the following info about the Grand Opening:

I just wanted to drop you a quick line to remind you about our upcoming CK SPORTS Grand Opening scheduled for Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14 (now postponed until Sept 20-21 due to Hurricane Ike). Outlined below is a rough draft of what we have planned for the weekend.

Saturday Morning will begin with a guided Bike Ride - approx. 25 to 30 miles pending RSVP's - We will start this ride at 7 am

Activities and store opening will begin at 9am on Saturday and 1pm on Sunday

We will have the following set up outside for customers.

In the parking lot and up around the awning at the store will be:

Snow Cone Machine
Pop Corn Machine
Bounce House

From 11 to 2 pm we will be grilling hot dogs

Throughout the weekend we will be drawing tickets for free give aways

Inside the store we will be having short seminars on the following topics:

  • How to get Started on a Fitness Program and Stick with it
  • Can I really do a Triathlon?
  • Why Swim?
  • Bra Fitting -- what you should know
  • Biking Apparel -- what you should know
  • Safety when Biking or Running - what you should know?
  • How to Care for Technical Apparel
  • Shoe Fitting - why can't I just buy the one with the silver stripes? Pronation/Supination - What does that mean to me?
  • Tri Apparel - what you should know
  • Nutrition - does it matter what I eat if I work out hard?
  • Hydration - why is it so important?
  • Socks - what's the big deal on socks?
  • GU, Shots, Bars, Chews - how do I know what to get and when to eat them?
  • Vitamins - Why should I take them?
  • Massage / Sports Therapy -
  • Injury Prevention
  • Volleyball Clinic (these will run about 20 minutes)
  • Soccer Clinic - (these will run about 20 minutes) (if you have any other topic ideas; please let me know!)
